Chapel Renovations

Back

Wednesday, April 16, 2025

It is with great joy that we announce the temporary closure of our parish chapel beginning May 5, as we begin its transformation into a Perpetual Adoration Chapel. This renovation, made possible by the generous donation of Robert, Shelley, and Luis Gonzalez in honor of their grandmother, Maria Teresa Gonzalez, will include updates to the flooring and paint, installation of new audio/visual systems, the addition of two confessionals, and a complete redesign focused on Eucharistic Adoration. During this time, weekday Masses will take place in the main sanctuary, where the Blessed Sacrament will now remain permanently.

We ask for your prayers and patience as we carry out this sacred project. Once completed, daily Masses and Perpetual Adoration will resume in the renovated chapel. Thank you for walking this journey with us!

Fr. Jose N. Alfaro

Chapel Renovations FAQ

Chapel Renovations FAQ

Why are we renovating/ What are we doing to this space?
The main intention behind this renovation is to open our own Perpetual Adoration Chapel, a sacred space where Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament will be adored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This is different from what we currently have in our Chapel.

Jesus is currently present in the Chapel concealed in the tabernacle and not exposed for us to be able to adore Him. Perpetual Adoration isthe uninterrupted adoration of Jesus Christ, truly present in the Holy Eucharist.

Parishioners commit to spending one hour a week in silent prayer before the Blessed Sacrament, offering praise, thanksgiving, reparation, and petition.

This sacred space has long been a place of prayer and encounter, and with these improvements, it will become an even more profound sanctuary for adoration and communion with our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament.

Some of the renovations will include:

  • Two designated confessionals
  • New flooring and paint restoration
  • Upgraded audio and projection systems
  • Most importantly, a space designed for Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration

How are we able to do these renovations?
This extraordinary project is made possible through the generous donation of Robert, Shelley, and Luis Gonzalez, given in loving gratitude for the enduring faith of Robert’s grandmother, Maria Teresa Gonzalez, who at 102 years old continues to be a pillar of prayer and devotion. We thank them sincerely for their generosity!

Where will daily mass take place/ Where can pray during the week?
During this time, our weekday Masses at 7:00 AM and 8:30 AM will be held in the Main Sanctuary. This means that Jesus in the Eucharist will be reverently moved from the chapel to the Main Sanctuary, where He will stay permanently so this is the best place to be able to pray during the time of renovations.

An alternative place to pray would be at our reflection pond. This is a beautiful way to be able to encounter God's loving presence in nature.

When will this begin/ How long will the renovations take?
Chapel Renovations begin Monday, May 5th. However, before we embark on this journey Jesus and the tabernacle need to be removed from this space. But we need to continue to have a tabernacle with Him present so we will be moving Jesus in a tabernacle to the Main Sanctuary Worship Space.

This special transition will take place during Sanctuary Weekend, May 3-4, just before the chapel renovations begin. We will commemorate this sacred relocation with opportunities for Adoration beginning after the 5:00 PM Saturday Vigil Mass, continuing overnight into Sunday, and in between all Sunday Masses.

After our final Mass at 1:00 PM, Adoration will continue until 6:00 PM, when we will hold a Eucharistic Procession around the main sanctuary and repose Jesus in the tabernacle in the church. Please, we invite you to come be a part of this historical moment in our parish!

The duration of the project is approximately four months. We will continue to keep you updated on the project and will notify you when we have an official open date for the Perpetual Adoration Chapel.
